Frozen bag wings vs fresh wings in the air fryer, not even close

I did a side by side test last Tuesday because I got two packs at the grocery store on sale. The frozen ones came out dry and chewy even though I added 5 extra minutes. The fresh ones, just patted dry with paper towels and tossed in a little baking powder, came out crispy all over in 22 minutes at 390. My wife walked in and asked why I was taking photos of chicken like a weirdo. Has anyone else given up on frozen wings entirely, or is there a brand that actually works?
