My air fryer basket coating flaked off mid batch and I served my kids metal chips
So last Tuesday I was doing a batch of frozen wings at 400 for 22 minutes like I have maybe 60 times before, and when I pulled the basket out the nonstick stuff was peeling off in flakes right onto the food. I didn't notice at first, my 9 year old found a gray chip in her wing and asked what it was, and I almost threw up. That fryer was 14 months old, just past the warranty of course, and I used it pretty much every day so I guess I wore the coating down. I scrubbed it with a metal brush a few times which people online say is the dumbest thing you can do, so that's probably on me. Now I'm torn between buying the same model again for $89 or going back to my oven like a caveman. Does anybody actually get more than a year out of these things or am I just rough on them?
