My neighbor said air fryer wings are cheating, now I get it

Honestly, last week my neighbor Dave watched me throw frozen wings in the basket and called it lazy cooking. I was mad at first, but then I tried his method of patting them dry and doing a 10 minute preheat at 380. The skin came out way crispier, and now I feel bad for all those soggy batches I bragged about. Has anyone else had their whole routine flipped by a blunt comment like that?

You ever try tossing them in a little baking powder before the preheat? That was my wake-up call moment too, changed everything for me.
