A bit of grease fixed a persistent landing gear squeak
This Cessna's gear has been noisy for a while. I checked all the bearings and linkages. Found a dry pivot point that needed lube. Greased it up and the noise is gone. Felt pretty good to solve it so easily.

That "felt pretty good" is an understatement. Mechanics live for when the fix is that simple and cheap, instead of finding some huge expensive problem. Were you secretly hoping for a more dramatic repair story to tell?

Oh totally, I get what you mean vera_adams. It's like when you're braced for the worst, like a whole new transmission, and it's just a loose hose clamp or a blown fuse. That relief is the best feeling, way better than some crazy story. You just saved someone a ton of stress and money.

Wondering if the customer gets that same little thrill, quietly proud they diagnosed a simple fix before bringing it in. Their version of winning.
