Hit my 500th panel install last week and found something odd

I crossed 500 alarm panels installed last Tuesday on a commercial job over in Mill Creek. I started counting about 6 years ago just out of curiosity, not for any real reason. What surprised me was that over 80 of those were service calls for the exact same wiring mistake I used to make myself back when I started. It made me wonder how many of us are out there fixing problems we caused years ago and just don't realize it. Has anyone else gone back and found their own old work?

Oh man, that hits close to home! I did the exact same thing about three years back when I was rewiring a house I'd worked on in 2018. Found a ground loop I'd left because I was rushing to finish on a Friday. I had to sit there and laugh at myself for a solid minute before fixing it. It's funny how you remember those little shortcuts you took when you were green, and suddenly they're staring you in the face. Makes you wonder if we're all just recycling our own mistakes across different jobs. I bet half the service calls out there are just us fixing past versions of ourselves.

Pretty much sums up the whole trade right there.
