I finally got bit by a wireless sensor battery dying at 2am

Last Tuesday I got a call from a customer in Arlington whose alarm went off for a low battery chime at 2 in the morning. Turned out the door sensor on their back slider had been installed 4 years ago and the CR123 just gave up silently. Anyone else run into a bunch of these failing at the same time or was this just bad luck?

Nah, sounds like your customer just got unlucky. Batteries die.

Seventy-five percent of battery failures happen in the first year, that's what I read somewhere. But honestly @jade_butler, I had a phone that'd die at 30% every single day for months... turns out it was a software glitch, not the battery. Sometimes it's just weird luck either way.
