My old crew chief was right about sensor placement, shoulda listened in 2019

Back when I was doing commercial installs in Phoenix, my crew chief Ray kept telling me to mount the motion sensors at 6.5 feet and angle them down 15 degrees. I thought he was being paranoid until we got a callback last month on a warehouse job where the customer swore their motion detector kept missing movement near the loading dock. I walked the site, looked at the sensor, and sure enough the other installer had it at 7 feet with no angle. What really sold me was when I checked the detection zone with a ladder and a test wand, the blind spot was exactly the 2 foot gap under the pallet racking. Anyone run into a similar issue with vertical mounting heights on high ceiling jobs?
