Tripped over a wire run I did 5 years ago and learned something

I was out at a rework job last week for a church in Decatur that wanted to move their main panel. The original install was mine from way back in 2019. I pulled open the old can and found my wire labels were still perfectly legible, but I had taped them parallel to the wires instead of wrapping them around. That meant I had to peel tape off each one to read the label, which cost me a solid 45 minutes. If I had just wrapped the tape around the wire, I could have read them all without touching a single one. Now I'm going back through my other old jobs and redoing labels the right way. Has anyone else found a little trick like that that saves you time on service calls?

You really went back to redo labels at old jobs just because of one bad day? That's dedication man, I respect the hustle but also think you might have too much time on your hands. You already spent 45 minutes peeling tape, now you're spending how many hours driving around town fixing perfectly functional labels that nobody but you will ever see again? Next time just carry a pocket knife and slice the tape off in one clean cut, saves you the existential crisis and the extra gas money. But hey, at least you found your closure.
