Just hit 50 houses re-roofed in my first year solo in Calgary

I was adding up my invoices from the last 12 months and the total came to exactly 50 jobs. It hit me because I started with just my truck and a few tools, figuring I'd be lucky to get 20. Most of those were from word of mouth after I fixed a leak for a guy in McKenzie Towne last spring. Honestly thought I'd be back working for a bigger company by now. Anyone else have a first-year number that totally surprised them?

That's a solid number for year one, especially going solo. How many of those 50 jobs were from that first leak fix in McKenzie Towne? I'm curious if one good job really can spin off that much work, or if you had to hustle other ways too.

Honestly mary_schmidt, that first job was like catching a lucky break. It got me maybe 10 calls from people on that same street, all with similar old pipe issues. But after that, I had to get creative. I put cards in local coffee shops and even did a free fix for my aunt's friend, which felt weird but it paid off. You can't just wait for the phone to ring.
