My mentor in Red Deer said "the framing tells you where the drywall wants to go" and I finally get it
I was hanging board on a 2,800 sq ft place near Gasoline Alley and kept fighting a wall that just would not sit flat no matter how I shimmed it. He walked over, ran his hand along the studs, and said the framer crowned them all the same way so I had to hang it with the curve, not against it. How do you guys deal with crowned studs on a whole wall, do you just live with it or plane them down first?
Man, that framing line is one of those things that shows up everywhere once you hear it. You can't fight what's already there, you just work with it, and that goes for a lot more than drywall, you know? Sounds like your mentor gave you a lesson that'll keep paying off long after that Gasoline Alley job.
