Picked spray foam over batt insulation for my garage, now I'm wondering if I made the right call
I was getting quotes to insulate my detached garage in Edmonton, and the spray foam guy quoted me $2,800 while the batt insulation crew said $1,100. Big difference. I went with the spray foam because I wanted it air sealed and thought it'd be worth it long term. But now it's been two months and I'm second guessing myself. The spray foam job looks fine but I keep thinking about that extra $1,700. Has anyone else dealt with this choice and regretted one or the other?

$2,800 is a LOT for a garage but honestly the air sealing matters way more than people give it credit for. I've noticed this pattern with homeowners where they'll cheap out on the stuff you can't see and then pay triple later in heating bills and comfort issues. You saved yourself from drafts and rodents getting in through gaps that batts would never seal, so consider that $1,700 an investment in peace of mind.
