inPSA: The soil color shift at that dig site in Nevada blew my mind
Man, isn't that the truth... the ground keeps secrets better than we do sometimes.

inTIL that old conspiracy forum post about chemtrails was half right about one thing
Yeah that's about right. My uncle was convinced cloud seeding worked because his garden got less hail the summer they tried it, but honestly I think he just got lucky with the weather that year.

inSaw a sudden drop in finches after switching to black oil sunflower - two weeks later they came back
I mean, maybe the dip was just coincidence and not the hawk, @avery629's buddy could be reading too much into it.

inQuestion about hostel loyalty programs - worth it or a waste?
Wait, so you're telling me I paid $120 for the privilege of feeling guilty about going to the cheaper grocery store down the street? Exactly. It's like they've figured out how to charge us for the "freedom" of not shopping around. I fell for it once with one of those meat subscription boxes. Paid upfront for six months of "grass fed" burgers and then realized I could get the same stuff at Aldi for half the price, but nope, already spent the cash so I ate those expensive patties with a forced smile on my face the whole time. Its basically a scam where you're the one doing the scamming to yourself. You end up stuck in a cycle of rationalizing bad deals just because you already paid the entry fee. And then you convince yourself its working because you saved like $4 on gas that one time.

inJust saw the Sutton Hoo helmet in person at the British Museum and it blew my mind
I spent ages looking at the reconstructed helmet display in the visitor center at Sutton Hoo itself... how did the boar crest detail compare between the real thing and the replica you saw in the museum?
