Took 3 weekends to patch one adobe wall correctly

I kept slapping mud on this crack near the lintel and it just kept coming back. First try used regular joint compound, second try added fiber tape, third try finally read the SDS sheet on the adobe sealer. The fix was letting each layer cure for 48 hours in our dry air, not rushing it overnight. Anyone else fight with adobe repair here or is it just me?

Used to think adobe repair was just slapping mud on and hoping. That was before I watched a hairline crack behind our kitchen sink turn into a foot-long mess because I rushed it. The 48 hour cure thing sounds annoying but it actually matters. I tried a quick overnight patch once and it pulled away from the wall in a week. Now I just set a timer and let it sit. Your post made me slow down and respect the dry air problem here.
