Mispronounced an anime name for 3 years, my friend finally corrected me in a grocery store

I kept calling it 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure' as 'Joe-Joe's' out loud to everyone, even my local anime club in Portland. My buddy overheard me at a Safeway checkout and laughed for a solid minute before telling me it's 'Yo-Yo's'. Ever had a moment where you realized you butchered something obvious for way too long?

You ever get a word so wrong it feels like a personal attack? I said 'Goku' like 'Goo-koo' for like five years. My buddy finally stopped me mid-sentence at a bar and goes, 'It's GOH-ku, not Goo-koo, you absolute menace.' I still hear the whole room laughing when I think about it.
