Rant: I've been watching anime with the wrong subtitles for months
I was watching this new show, 'Sakura's Echo,' on my usual site and the subs felt really stiff and weird. My friend in Tokyo sent me a clip from her stream last week, and the same scene had totally different, way more natural dialogue. Turns out I'd been using a machine-translated fan sub group this whole time without knowing. Has anyone else gotten stuck with bad subs and found a good site to avoid them?

Honestly, getting stuck with machine-translated subs is my personal brand of anime luck.

Oh man, @troystone, I feel that so hard! I was watching this show last week where the subs kept calling the main character's sword his "special kitchen knife." It completely ruined a big emotional scene! You just have to laugh or you'll cry. It's like the translators just ran the script through a free app and called it a day. Makes you really appreciate the good fan sub groups when you find them.
