Used to skip filler arcs but then I watched episode 49 of Gintama
I always thought filler was just wasted time, but someone in a forum said Gintama's filler actually builds character bonds. I tried the "Jiu Jitsu" episode where they just mess around for 20 minutes and laughed harder than any main plot. Has anyone else found a filler episode that changed their mind about skipping them?

Someone said Gintama's filler actually builds character bonds" is so true. My buddy Mark swore by skipping filler until he watched the episode where the whole crew tries to teach a dog to steal a wallet, and he said it made him actually care about the characters more than any serious plot. Now he watches every single filler episode, calls me to laugh about random scenes.

That dog episode is exactly the kind of nonsense that made me stop skipping anything in Gintama. Before that I figured filler was just padding, but watching them waste 20 minutes trying to turn a stray into a pickpocket made me laugh way harder than any big fight scene. Did you ever catch the one where they spend half the episode trying to decide what to eat for dinner?
