Found a dead mouse in a dryer vent last Tuesday and it changed my whole approach
I was out on a call in a house near Maplewood, the dryer was taking forever to dry clothes. Turns out a mouse had gotten into the vent and built a nest right before the outside flap. Pulled out over a pound of lint and nesting material, it was nasty but kinda impressive. After that I started telling every customer to check their exterior vents every 6 months, not just the lint trap. Has anyone else run into weird blockages like that in dryer vents?

@charlie_ellis I'm with you on that, every 6 months feels a lot if you're in a suburban area with not much going on. But I had a customer last year pull a sock out of their vent somehow, still no idea how it got in there lol. That mouse story is wild though, a pound of lint is disgusting but also kinda impressive.

I'd push back a little, checking every six months feels like overkill unless you've got trees or critters nearby.
