My scrap ticket hit $212 in one trip and I'm hooked on saving copper
Honestly I used to toss old cords and burnt out compressors in the dumpster behind the shop without a second look. Last Tuesday I finally weighed in a full truck bed at the yard over in Council Bluffs and the ticket came back $212, which was way more than I figured. About $140 of that was bare copper from a pile of dead fridges I'd been tripping over for 6 weeks. I started sorting motors and wire by hand now instead of shoving it all in one bin, and it's crazy how fast the copper adds up. Ngl it made me look at every junker washer on a curb a little different. Anyone else keep a magnet and a set of snips in the truck just for scrap runs, or am I the only one doing this?
