Remember pulling a wiring diagram from the back of an old washer?
Back in the day, most appliances had a schematic glued inside the panel. You could trace a fault without needing a computer. Now, everything is hidden behind codes and online portals. I miss the simplicity of just opening it up and seeing how it all connects. It made teaching apprentices so much easier too. What do you think, has technology made repairs faster or just more complicated?

Actually, those old diagrams could be a maze of lines that took forever to trace. A modern error code gets you right to the problem circuit in minutes. Having the full service manual and video guides on a phone or tablet while your hands are busy is a huge upgrade from a faded paper chart.

That bit about faded paper charts is too real. I used to spend hours squinting at those things and still trace the wrong line. Now with error codes, I at least look like I know what I'm doing.

Right? Like the old way was basically a treasure hunt where the prize was just finding the blown fuse lmao.
