Spent 4 hours on a dryer that just needed a $9 part

Had a call last Tuesday in Tacoma where the dryer tumbled fine but would not heat. Checked the thermal fuse, thermistor, even the heating element with my multimeter, all tested good. Turns out the moisture sensor bars were so corroded the board thought the clothes were dry and shut off the heat. Replaced the sensor assembly for nine bucks and it fired right up. Anyone else ever get blindsided by a bad moisture sensor when everything else checks out?

Isn't the moisture sensor usually the first thing people skip when there's no heat? Three hours chasing fuses and a bad sensor is what it was the whole time, so I'd check that before pulling out the meter.
