Had a 90 foot oak split right down the middle on a job last month

I was taking down a mature white oak in a tight backyard in Portland and it just cracked with no warning. Luckily we had the pull line set right or it would have taken out a fence and a shed. Has anyone else had a tree fail on them mid cut like that?

Nope, that sounds like bad planning or cutting technique if you ask me.

Oh man, totally agree! I tried rushing through a batch of rough cuts last month and ended up with all these jagged edges and splits. Had to scrap almost half the material because I didn't take the time to set up my cuts right beforehand. It's wild how much difference a little planning and proper blade angle makes.
