Spent $300 on a Silky Zubat saw and it paid for itself in one weekend

I was always using cheap pruning saws that dulled after a few cuts. Finally dropped $300 on a Silky Zubat 330mm saw from a dealer in Portland and took down a huge dead oak branch in my neighbor's yard Saturday morning. The thing cut through 12 inch wood like butter, no binding or fighting it. Anyone else find that spending real money on one good saw beats buying three cheap ones?

Hold on, 300 bucks for a Zubat 330mm is way off. The 330 is usually around 150 to 180, maybe 200 on a bad day. You sure you didn't get a Sugoi or a bigger model? The difference between the standard Zubat and the pro version is price, not performance in my experience. I've had my 330 for 3 years now and it still cuts like new, so the money is worth it. Just want people to know the real price so they don't get ripped off.

Why do people always gotta nitpick prices instead of just appreciating a tool that actually works? Yeah, maybe I paid a little extra at a local shop, who cares. The point is that saw changed my whole weekend and made a tough job easy. I'd rather spend real money once than buy three junk saws that break or dull out after a few cuts. You get what you pay for, plain and simple. If my saw lasts 3 years like hers, I'm way ahead.
