Conflict over a burial site discovery on private land has me seeking input
I was helping with a field survey on a ranch last spring when we spotted what looked like old bones and broken pottery. The landowner gave us permission to be there, but now he wants to dig it all up and sell the pieces online. Some team members say we have to tell the state archaeology office right away. Others argue that it's his property and we should stay out of it. I feel stuck between protecting history and respecting the guy's rights. Has anyone else faced a tough choice like this? How did you handle it?

Honestly, that's a really tough call.

Honestly... I always thought the opposite. But seeing how it played out really changed my mind on it.
