Question about cleaning 2000 year old coins with a toothbrush
I scrubbed a bronze Roman coin from a dig near Bath for 20 minutes with my kid's old toothbrush and turned a perfectly green patina into a shiny penny, so has anyone else ruined something ancient trying to make it look nicer?
