That 3000 year old pot I almost passed up at a yard sale

I grabbed a dusty amphora fragment for $5 at an estate sale in Tucson just because it looked old, figured it was a fake or souvenir piece. Took it to the university geology lab on a whim and the thermoluminescence dating came back around 900 BCE, exact origin unknown. Anyone else ever accidentally bought something real at a flea market or garage sale, and what made you finally get it checked out?
