TIL my star trails were blurry because I was stacking wrong
Posted a shot from my backyard in Phoenix last month and someone commented 'your alignment is off, check your anchor point'. I was just stacking all the frames in DeepSkyStacker with the default settings. Tried it again but manually picked a bright star as the anchor before stacking. The trails came out way sharper, like night and day difference. Anyone else have a go-to trick for clean star trail photos?

You mentioned star trail photos, but stacking is for deep sky stuff where you want the stars to stay still. For actual star trails, you're just blending all the exposures together in something like Photoshop. The anchor point trick in DSS is for when you're trying to cancel out the earth's rotation, not show it.
