Called BS on that 'seafoam in the oil' trick for years

Finally tried it on my 97 Silverado with 220k miles. Had a stuck lifter ticking like crazy. Poured half a can in the crankcase 50 miles before an oil change. Tick went away completely. Still feels weird putting that stuff in my engine but it worked. Anybody else have a hack they swore was fake until they tried it?

You've had the same experience I did? I used to tell people putting cleaner in your oil was just snake oil. My 05 F-150 had a nasty lifter tick around 180k miles. I was about to pull the heads off. A buddy at work kept insisting I try it. I finally put a can in and changed the oil after a short highway drive. It quieted right down and that was three years ago. Still feels wrong doing it but the proof is right there.
