Kept arguing with this old diesel tech about injector cleaning until he showed me a fuel sample under his microscope from a Badland winch truck he worked on last Wednesday

I always thought running a bottle of injector cleaner through the tank was a waste of money but after seeing the difference between the cleaned and uncleaned injectors under 200x magnification I gotta admit it actually works better than I thought - has anyone else actually looked at their injectors before and after cleaning?

I mean, "200x magnification" is definitely the kind of flex I'd expect from a guy who probably argues about oil viscosity at parties. But honestly, that sounds like the most diesel mechanic thing ever, pulling out a microscope to win an argument about injector cleaner. I bet he keeps a little vial of dirty fuel in his pocket just to whip out at barbecues. "Oh, you think your truck is running rough? Let me get my lab equipment." Next thing you know, he'll be asking for your fuel sample under a black light. Maybe it's just me, but I'm glad someone out there is taking injector hygiene this seriously.
