Why does nobody talk about how bad the chain lube situation is at that big bike shop in Denver

Wait wait wait, they told you straight up they don't order til the old stock sells out? That's wild. I mean I've seen some crusty bottles at places before but that's a whole other level of not caring. I had a similar thing happen at a different REI a while back with a bottle of Muc-Off, it had this weird crusty residue around the cap and the liquid inside was cloudy. The kid at the counter just shrugged and said "yeah that happens sometimes." For a place that big you'd think they'd have someone walking the aisles once a month checking for that stuff. It's not like it's hard to spot either.

Hit 500 reviews on Etsy last week and it felt WEIRD

That milestone number really sneaks up on you, doesn't it? I hit 300 reviews last month on my handmade pottery and I felt the same way - a little weird and almost embarrassed by all those nice words. It's like suddenly you realize real people are out there looking at your stuff and taking the time to say something nice about it. Kinda makes you want to hide under a blanket for a minute, you know? But congrats on those 500, that's a legit achievement even if it feels strange.

Pro tip: A friend told me my dice tower tray was too loud. Fixed it with felt pads under $3.

You mentioned 'a friend told me my dice tower tray was too loud,' but that's not quite right. A dice tower tray is just the tray part, the noise usually comes from the dice hitting the actual tower ramps or the base before they land. So putting felt on the tray alone might not fix the whole rattle. You'd probably need to line the inside ramps too, otherwise the dice still clatter on the way down. I did that with my own tower and it made a bigger difference than just the landing pad.

Shoutout to the old-school handle scales on my first custom knife

That thing about micarta getting grippier wet is real. I've had my old linen micarta in the rain a few times and it feels like sandpaper compared to a slippery wet titanium handle. The other angle nobody brings up is the smell though. A good natural micarta or wood handle has this warm, earthy smell after you've carried it for months. That sterile carbon fiber just smells like nothing or plastic. My green micarta smells like old bookbinding glue and workshop dust. It's weird but it adds to the whole experience.

Face peel gone wrong at my cousin's wedding

@thomas_johnson is right to call it out - that shade of red takes some serious confidence. Did the groom actually match anyone's tie or vest to that color, or was he just going for maximum contrast against the white dress? Seems like a bold move that either works or makes everyone look like they're sweating through a tomato stain.
