Serious question, choosing between a Milwaukee M18 impact and a Snap-on 14.4v for the shop

We needed a new shop impact and the choice came down to the Milwaukee M18 Fuel or a Snap-on 14.4v CT761. I went with the Milwaukee because the battery platform is already all over our shop in Cleveland. It's been solid for 8 months now, no issues pulling axle nuts. Anyone else made a similar call between shop standard and a dedicated pro brand?

Gotta say I'm shocked you even considered the Snap-on. Their 14.4 volt stuff feels like a dead end platform to me, like buying into Betamax when the whole shop is already on VHS. I've seen guys stuck with a drawer full of those weird batteries that won't work on anything else. Going with the M18 just makes sense when you can share packs with half the other tools in the bay.

People forget about the truck account. That Snap-on guy shows up every week and you end up with a payment book. Milwaukee you just buy the tool once and own it. The battery thing is big but the financial leash is the real killer.
