Showerthought: my old boss caught me torquing lug nuts with the impact and said two words that fixed my whole comeback
Back in 2018 I was flat rate at a shop in Amarillo and I'd just zip lugs on with the impact and call it done, figured it was close enough. My boss Ray watched me do it on a Silverado, walked over, and said 'comeback king.' That was it, two words, but he meant it because I'd had 4 comebacks that month from wheels loosening up. Next day I bought a torque wrench and started hand torquing everything in a star pattern, and my comebacks dropped to zero over the next 3 months. Now I'm the guy who yells at the new kids about it. Anybody else get humbled by a one liner from an old timer that stuck with you for years?
