A lead tech told me to stop twisting my cannon plug wires, and I still think about it
Two years back I was redoing a cannon plug on a King Air and a lead named Dave watched me twist the stripped wires together before crimping. He said, "You're making a future chafe point, pal," and handed me a pair of flush cutters. Turned out the twist puts a stress riser right at the crimp barrel, so a plane that vibrates for a living cracks it way sooner than it should. Now I strip, insert, crimp, and tug test every single pin, and I log the pin count on the work order. Anyone here ever pull a plug apart and find a twist buried in there?
