Blew out a CRJ harness on a Tuesday, the smell of cooked Kapton stuck for 3 days

We had a pinched wire behind the avionics rack on a 2004 CRJ200, found it after a MEL write-up, but the hardest part was tracing the break through 40 feet of looms with the APU running and a gate push time of 2 hours. Has anyone else had a phantom short that only shows up with vibration, or am I the only one carrying a stethoscope to a flight deck?

Didnt the AMM have a note about the harness routing near that rack? I remember reading somewhere that the factory zip ties werent grippy enough and theyd slide over time, letting the wire chafe against the frame. Vibration shorts are the worst though, I had a buddy swear by a mechanics stethoscope on the bundles but I always just wiggled stuff til the lights flickered.
