Found out the hard way that grounding my workbench actually fixed my weird voltage readings

Had a Cessna 172 pitot-static showing erratic numbers last month, swapped every sensor with no luck. Tried running a dedicated ground wire from the bench to the airframe ground and the readings went rock solid. Anyone else run into phantom issues from bad grounding on the bench?

Threw a dedicated ground strap on my lathe and it stopped phantom voltage issues cold.

Right after I fixed my bench ground I zapped myself on a capacitor I forgot to discharge, which felt like a real smart move (it was not). That whole experience taught me that bad grounding hides everywhere, even in places like a lathe that seems totally fine. So yeah, grounding fixes are basically the duct tape of electrical work, simple but they really work.
