That line in the wiring diagram that said 'see note 4' cost me 3 hours

I was working on a 2008 Gulfstream G450 at the shop in Phoenix last Tuesday. Note 4 just said 'refer to vendor manual' but didn't say which vendor or where the manual was kept. Eventually found it buried in a PDF on an old laptop under the bench. Has anyone else run into diagrams that send you on a wild goose chase like that?

I have to push back on this a bit. That "see note 4" is actually doing you a favor by pointing you somewhere specific instead of just leaving you guessing. The real problem is that someone didn't keep the vendor manual in a logical spot, not the note itself. On a G450, there's so much paperwork that a simple cross-reference like that is the only way to keep things straight without having to reprint 50 pages every time a vendor updates a spec. I say cut the diagram writer some slack and blame whoever lost the PDF.
