Watched a new guy torque a pitot static fitting for 20 minutes with a short wrench and it clicked for me
When I started at the shop in Wichita years back, the lead would hand me a short box wrench for pitot static fittings and say it was so I could feel the seal, not crush it. Fast forward to the line last week, a younger tech was fighting a leak on a static line and had a cheater bar on it, because he figured tighter is safer. I showed him the short wrench trick and he got it sealed in one try, no cracked ferrule. Why do some of the old habits get tossed aside when they still work? Curious what tools you all keep around just because they teach your hands the right feel.
