That guy on the JMT last summer who told me I was hiking wrong because of my pack weight

Dude literally stopped me at Crabtree Meadow to give me unsolicited advice about my 38 lb pack while he was eating a freeze dried meal that probably cost $12, has anyone else had someone try to gatekeep their own hike like that?

I mean, I used to be one of those people who thought lighter was always better. I'd see someone with a 38 lb pack and think "that's way too much." But then last year I did a section where I brought my old 45 lb setup and honestly it was fine. I just took more breaks and went slower. That guy stopping you at Crabtree Meadow to lecture you about it sounds exhausting though. Like, who does that? Let people carry what they want, you know?
