Walking the JMT in 2019 vs 2023 - two completely different trails

I did the John Muir Trail first in 2019, then again last summer. The difference in water crossings was shocking - in 2019 I barely got my boots wet, but in 2023 I had to wade waist-deep at Evolution Creek because the snowmelt was so heavy. That warm winter in California really changed things. Has anyone else noticed big changes on a route they've done more than once?

Waist deep at Evolution Creek? That is wild.

Man I remember that exact spot @taylor174, water was right up to my chest in late June. Current was strong too, had to brace myself with my poles the whole way across. Definitely one of those river crossings that sticks with you.
