My tent went from dry to soaked in one night

Used that Sil-Net seam sealer on my old REI tent a month ago. Looked great at first. Then we got hammered by a storm up near Lake Tahoe. Water came right through the taped seams anyway. Wasted 6 hours of a 3 day trip drying gear. Anyone else have seam sealer fail on them like that?

Last spring I had a guy in Spokane who insisted I put a 4-foot fence around this one giant oak in his backyard. He said it was to "protect the tree's personal space"… I thought he was joking. He even paid me $200 extra to make a little gate on it so he could go inside and talk to the tree. Has anyone else dealt with a customer who had a weird request like that?

Stuck for three days on a clogged cutterhead because we misread the sediment logs

Honestly, we were dredging a channel near Mobile and hit a layer of super compacted clay mixed with old timber. The logs said it was just silt. The cutterhead jammed solid. We tried flushing, reversing, even a small charge to shake it loose. Ngl, it took us 72 hours of downtime to finally get a diver down to cut the timber out by hand. Some guys say you should always send a camera down first, others say that's a waste of time on a routine job. What's your rule for checking unknown bottom material before you start cutting?
