Hot take: My neighbor hates that I let the hawks hunt in my yard, but it's natural, right?

Look at it from her side though. Those hawks aren't just hunting mice, they're a real problem. What if one goes after her cat or the little dogs that walk by? It's not just nature when it happens in a suburb where people live. Plus, nobody wants to find leftover animal parts in their flower beds. It's kind of disrespectful to invite that into a shared space.

Had a friend whose outdoor cat got snatched by a hawk last spring. It's a real risk people don't think about until it happens.

Is your neighbor worried the hawks might mistake her small dog for a snack... or is she just mad about the feathery cleanup crew? I mean, it's not like you're training them to dive-bomb her bird feeder or anything. Nature's gonna do its thing, whether she likes it or not. Maybe she'd prefer a yard full of mice and rabbits instead?
