My $70 squirrel proof feeder got wrecked in 2 days by a black bear

So a black bear ripped the pole right out of the ground behind my garage in Asheville last Tuesday and bent the baffle like a paperclip. I figured the feeder 8 feet up on a flimsy pole was fine, and it turns out bears around here treat that like a drive thru. What are you all actually doing that keeps them out, because I am not rebuilding this thing a third time?
