My neighbor said suet would bring in woodpeckers by Thanksgiving, he was dead wrong
He swore by the plain beef suet cake at the hardware store on Elm Street, but after 3 weeks I got zero pecks and a yard full of starlings instead. Anyone else have luck with a specific suet mix, or is it just a waiting game in central Ohio?

Yeah your neighbor owes you an apology and maybe a refund on that suet cake lol. I mean suet usually pulls in woodpeckers but starlings will bulldoze through anything if they find it first. Have you tried the peanut kind? Woodpeckers seem to lose their minds over that one.
