My new squirrel-proof feeder lasted exactly 3 days before the pole snapped

I put up a steel shepherd's hook in my Atlanta yard on Tuesday, and a big storm Wednesday night bent it clean in half. I'm back to using a simple hook on the fence, which the squirrels can reach. What's the sturdiest pole you've used that actually holds up in bad weather?

Feel like everything is built to fail these days just to get you to buy the next thing. Watched my neighbor's fancy flagpole snap in a mild thunderstorm last month. I finally gave up and sunk a piece of galvanized steel pipe in concrete for my feeder, and nothing has moved it since. It's ugly but the squirrels and the wind haven't won yet.

Sinking pipe in concrete sounds like the only real fix.
