Stop using cheap suet cages, watch what happened after 60 days

I always thought any suet cage would do the job, but a starling bent the cheap wire one I got at a big box store within a week. After switching to a heavier welded design from a local feed shop in Ohio, the woodpeckers actually stick around longer and the suet lasts twice as long. Anyone else notice the cheap cages scare off the good birds?
