Am I the only one who got a wake up call about how I handled delayed flights?
Back in 2019 I was stuck at O'Hare for nine hours and I spent the whole time fuming at the gate agent like it was her fault. A retired pilot sitting next to me tapped my arm and told me the desk workers find out about delays at the same time we do, so I was just making a hard day worse for someone. Now when a flight slips I grab a coffee and check the board instead of marching up to the desk. It sounds small, but I get to my hotel way less wound up. Does anyone else have a travel habit that one stranger's comment totally flipped?
