Can we talk about how Plan 9 from Outer Space has a 66% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes?
I was scrolling on my phone during lunch at work and pulled up the Rotten Tomatoes page for Plan 9 from Outer Space. The audience score is sitting at 66%. That means two out of every three people who rated it said they liked it. I get that half the fun of bad movie night is laughing at the movie with friends, but a 66% is a real score. My buddy Dave and I watch this thing every October and we still yell at the screen when the cop car randomly explodes. The tombstones are clearly cardboard. The detective holds his gun like it's a sandwich. None of that is a secret. So who is out there giving it a fresh rating with a straight face? Are people just rating it based on the laughs and not the actual movie? I need someone to explain this to me.
