Discovered my measuring cups were a lie after 4 years of baking

Finally figured out why my cakes kept sinking in the middle... turns out those cheap plastic measuring cups from my college dorm in Ohio were actually 1/8 cup short on every marking. My neighbor brought over her metal set to compare and I just stood there staring at mine like an idiot. How do you even get a fair measurement when the tool itself is wrong, has anyone else had this happen?
