Dropped my measuring cup into the batter bowl and still saved the cake

I was mixing a chocolate layer cake and my glass measuring cup slipped right into the bowl, shattering into pieces. Managed to fish out all the glass shards with a slotted spoon and bamboo skewer over 10 minutes, and the cake actually came out fine with no crunch. Anyone else had a near disaster that turned into a win by some miracle?

Start sifting through the batter with a flashlight next time, glass can hide in a chocolate mix really well. Good on you for taking the time to get every piece out.
