Hit 100 perfect sourdough loaves today. Never thought I'd get there.
I started tracking my bakes after my 10th disaster loaf last March. Today I pulled #100 out of the oven and it had the best ear I've ever gotten. How do you guys track your progress or milestones in baking?

Wait, do you really need to track this stuff? It sounds like you're turning a fun hobby into a chore by counting every single loaf. I've been baking sourdough for like five years now and I've never kept count. The best part about making bread is just the process, not chasing some number. Plus, what if loaf #101 comes out flat? Now you've got a spreadsheet full of wins and one sad loser. Seems like it could take the joy out of it if you're not careful.

Mia, you make a fair point, but I guess I see it differently. For me, the counting isn't about chasing a number or making it a competition with myself. It's more like a way to look back and see how the recipe has changed over time. Don't you ever look at an old loaf and think, "what was I doing differently then?" For me, the tracking helps answer that.
