My cake kept sinking in the middle until I started using a flower nail
I was making a three layer chocolate cake for my friend's birthday and the center always fell. I put a metal flower nail upside down in the middle of the pan before pouring the batter, and it baked perfectly level. Has anyone else tried this trick with different cake types?

My mom used to do that with her carrot cake. I should try it on my next vanilla sponge, the middle always gets gummy.
